Privacy policy
Last updated 23 October 2026
Boardroom Cue is a teleprompter and video studio for iPhone, made by Suman Kumar, an independent developer in India (“we”). It is built so that your scripts, your voice and your videos stay on your iPhone. This policy explains exactly what that means, what little information leaves your phone, and why.
The short version
- No account, no sign-up, no login.
- Your scripts, recordings, transcripts and finished videos stay on your iPhone. We never receive them.
- Speech recognition and script drafting run on your iPhone.
- No ads, no analytics or tracking in the app, and we never sell data.
- To confirm your subscription, Apple and our subscription service, RevenueCat, see an anonymous ID and your purchase records. Not your name or email.
What stays on your iPhone
Everything you create in the app is stored only on your iPhone: projects and scripts, the “Your voice” style notes, your name and title for lower-thirds, settings, recordings (“takes”), transcripts, edits and finished videos.
- Speech. When the app follows your voice, listens for commands such as “start” and “stop”, or transcribes a take for captions, it uses Apple’s on-device speech recognition. Audio is not sent to us or to anyone else.
- Drafting. The Draft feature uses Apple’s on-device Foundation Models (Apple Intelligence). Your notes and scripts are processed on the phone.
- Backups. Your phone’s own iCloud or computer backup includes your scripts and settings, under your Apple Account and Apple’s privacy terms. Recordings are excluded from backups and are encrypted while the phone is locked.
- Apple Watch. The Watch remote talks only to your iPhone, directly between your own devices.
A video leaves your iPhone only when you share it, save it to Photos or Files, or send it to another app yourself. What happens next is governed by where you send it.
Permissions the app asks for
- Camera and microphone, to record video and sound.
- Speech recognition, to follow your voice and hear commands, on the device.
- Photos (add only), to save a finished video when you ask. The app cannot read your library.
- Notifications, optional, for one local reminder two days before a free trial ends. It is scheduled on your iPhone; nothing is sent from a server.
Subscriptions: the only data that leaves the app
Payments are made through Apple. We never see your payment details, name, email address or Apple Account.
To know whether your trial or subscription is active, the app uses RevenueCat (RevenueCat, Inc., United States) as our service provider. RevenueCat receives a random anonymous ID created on your phone, your App Store purchase and renewal records for Boardroom Cue, and basic technical details such as app version, device model, iOS version and country or region. It uses them to validate purchases and unlock the app, and to show us subscription totals, such as how many trials started. This information is not linked to your identity and is not used for advertising or tracking. Apple shares sales and subscription reports with us that do not identify you.
When you contact us
If you email support@boardroomcue.com, your message is forwarded by Cloudflare to our Gmail inbox (Google). We use your email address and message only to reply and keep them for up to two years after the conversation ends, unless you ask us to delete them sooner.
This website
boardroomcue.com is hosted by Cloudflare, which processes technical data such as IP addresses to deliver the site and protect it from abuse.
To learn which pages are useful and how people find us, the site uses DataFast in its cookieless mode. It records page views, the referring site, a few site actions (such as reaching the pricing section or tapping our email address), and approximate country, browser and device type. It sets no cookies and stores nothing on your device, and it does not identify you or follow you across other websites. The analytics script and its reports go through boardroomcue.com itself. The app does not use DataFast or any other analytics.
The site has no advertising and no social-media trackers.
Legal basis and where data is processed
We process the limited data above to provide the service you asked for (performance of a contract) and, for support email, because you asked us to reply. Our service providers may process data in the United States and other countries, with safeguards required by law.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, including under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023 and the EU and UK GDPR, you may ask to access, correct or delete your personal data, object to its use, or complain to a data protection authority. Because the app keeps your content on your phone, you can delete all of it yourself: in the app, Settings → Delete everything, or delete the app. To delete the anonymous subscription record held by RevenueCat, or for any other request, email support@boardroomcue.com. We reply within 30 days.
Children
Boardroom Cue is made for professionals and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update it here with a new date. If a change affects what leaves your iPhone, the app will say so before it happens.
